WHAT WE DO
24/7 Security Monitoring
Every visit to your WordPress website is monitored. The IP addresses of the visitor are compared to a public and private blacklist that determines if the user has a history of malicious intent. We also monitor the uptime of your website. If your website hosting fails, we are alerted to the issue. This allows us to contact you, and assist you and your website hosting company.
Daily Full Site Security Scan
Every day we scan all the files in your website, including WordPress core files, to verify that they have not been modified by outside sources. Hackers tend to modify files, which in turn allows those pages, when displayed, to infect other pages. We not only monitor every file, if a discrepancy is found, we fix it.
Daily Cloud Backups
Some hosting services only backup your website once a week, or in some cases, once a month. We perform daily backups of your website and secure them in the cloud using Amazon S3 storage services. We retain several days of backups, just in case you need to rollback your website to a previous date. But our service doesn’t stop with one backup … we do it twice and store them each in two different locations.
Brute Force Attack Prevention
Hackers use software programs called “Bots” to systematically read your website and try to determine potential usernames to gain access. For example, if your site is about cooking, bots will use common cooking words such as “cooking”,”pasta”,”gourmet” and test them repeatedly to try to gain access. We block these attempts by monitoring the source, and the number of failed attempts. Multiple failed attempts will trigger a block of the IP address, and a block of the username to prevent future attempts.
WordPress Updates, Theme Updates, + Plugin Updates
WordPress is a sophisticated Content Management System. It requires frequent updates, and maintenance updates to keep it running properly. Themes are often updated, as are plugins which are use to customize and enhance your website. WPSD performs these updates for you. New major version updates are vetted to make sure they will not conflict. In the event a conflict does occur, we will make the necessary changes to your website to resolve the conflicts. Security updates are vital to a safe and secure website.
